All About Best Printing Styles For Men’s Apparel

The journey behind the inspiration for the next best design is always tricky. Lines and shapes arranged in an appealing way and with the right color added onto them can make a design that speaks differently to every individual. Many professional artists and designers have brought out the best design this year. But that design would have gone to waste if not for a specialized printer available to do art the justice of being plastered across the shirt as accurately as possible.

Here are best know printing styles available for men’s apparel.

Screen Printing

Screen printing has become a widely accepted method of printing text or design onto fabric t-shirts, pants, napkins, and more. The technique involves applying ink through a mesh screen, which allows the printed image to remain crisp and clean. However, because the process uses ink, the price varies depending on the fabric used. For example, silk costs less than cotton. And the quality of the finished print also affects its price.

DTG

With the growth of eCommerce and the rise of 3D printers, direct-to-garment printing has become a viable option for fashion brands looking to reduce production costs and increase their reach. Regarding 3D printing technology, the term ‘direct to garment’ refers to printing designs directly onto fabrics without using molds or cutting dies. This allows designers to create unique items that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to produce.

Plastisol Transfers

Plastisols (also known as vinyl plasters) are highly durable materials designed for interior or exterior uses. They come in various colors, ranging from white to black. There are two types of transfers related to plastisol transfers waterborne and solvent-borne. Waterborne transfers involve a thin film of liquid on top of a substrate surface and form a solid film after drying. Solvent-borne transfers involve applying an organic solvent onto a substrate surface, evaporation, and drying.

Dye Sublimation printing

Dye-sublimation printers allow you to print full-color images directly onto plastic or metal. If you have a 3d printer already, you can also incorporate them into other projects. Using dye sublimation printing allows you to place ink (or dyes) under high heat and then cool it down to get the colors. This makes it possible to create images that can never fade from exposure to sunlight or heat. And because the image is printed on the surface, the design won’t wear off over time either.

Discharge printing

Discharge printing is a technique where ink is ejected onto a printable surface using tiny nozzles. Each nozzle consists of two chambers; a chamber containing ink and a chamber containing a charging gas. This creates a pressure wave that travels toward the nozzle tip. At the same time, the heated filament vaporizes the ink. The advantages of discharge printing include its low cost compared to screen printing, fast production speed, high resolution, high accuracy, broad material compatibility, and cleanliness without contamination.
